There is one style with I fell in love at first sight, and it is called Art Nouveau. Was a very short lived, but highly creative movement, and I adore every aspect of it. The curved ornamental designs inspired by nature, the strong contours, the paintings of Mucha, the architecture, the dreamlike, otherworldly feel. On my cat paintings, I often incorporate Art Nouveau elements, or simply get inspired by this decorative style.

My painting titled Black Cat of Floral Motif of Art Nouveau is one of best example for my passion to this unique style. An elegant cat painting which incorporates the black cat theme and decoration elements of Belgian Art Nouveau, also called Secession, or Jugendstil from the Turn of the Century. The Cat with the necklace is beautifully framed with ornaments of black organic lines, white mosaic, and gold flowers, in front of the warm red colour background.
