There is one style with I fell in love at first sight, and it is called Art Nouveau. Was a very short lived, but highly creative movement, and I adore every aspect of it. The curved ornamental designs inspired by nature, the strong contours, the paintings of Mucha, the architecture, the dreamlike, otherworldly feel.  On my cat paintings, I often incorporate Art Nouveau elements, or simply get inspired by this decorative style.

My painting titled Black Cat of Floral Motif of Art Nouveau is one of best example for my passion to this unique style. An elegant cat painting which incorporates the black cat theme and decoration elements of Belgian Art Nouveau, also called Secession, or Jugendstil from the Turn of the Century. The Cat with the necklace is beautifully framed with ornaments of black organic lines, white mosaic, and gold flowers, in front of the warm red colour background.

A brand new painting from the Cats of Karavella Collection paying tribute for tuxedo cats. 

As I mentioned before, I have special feelings towards tuxedo cats. As a child, we had two feral cats, I can say with the most common patterns, at least in Hungary. One was a very tamed brown tabby called Mili, and the other called Miska who was an extremely wild tuxedo. We loved them both very much, but I was always wondering as a little kid, what could be his problem that he never let us not only to stroke him, but to touch him. We didn't have any contact with him, he just came for the daily milk portion, and brought us sometimes a mouse or a bird, but he was so wild, we never even could tell him thank you, most of the time he just ran away :)

Pretty Me In Tuxedo, is a bright coloured mixture of a lovely cat and floral patterns, ideal present and gift idea for tuxedo cat lovers. Ecoline painting with bold colours, about a black and white cat or in other name tuxedo cat sitting front of a English Stained glass window with orchid from around 1920. Black and red background a detail from a American stencil pattern from the first years of the XX Century, and on the ground green leaves, details from an Italian Illustration from the end of the XIX. Century.

 The inspiration for this cat painting came from a handsome tuxedo cat called Oliver, who has an Instagram account @olivervampirekitty. He is one of my collector, and follower at @cats_of_karavella . 
He is not only a gorgeous black and white kitty, but has great affection for bags, and also for red color, that is why I choose for the background red with black motifs, to fit nicely to the tuxedo markings.
